🏰 Devlog: New Animations Added — Wall Slide & Climb


I’ve just updated the 16x16 Platformer Knight Character Sprite Sheet with two new animations to give the character more movement variety and open up new level design possibilities.

What’s New

  • 🧗 Wall Slide (Left & Right)
    Useful for platformers with tighter jumps, vertical traversal, or wall-based movement mechanics.

  • 🪜 Climb (Back / Ladder Climb)
    Works well for ladders, ropes, vines, or chains — allowing for more natural vertical navigation.

These animations were added to expand how the knight can interact with the environment, while keeping the same visual style and pixel quality as the original animations.

Why I Added This

I wanted the knight to feel more complete and suitable for a wider range of platformer mechanics. Vertical and wall-based movement is common in many platformers, so these animations help the character fit into more game styles without needing extra edits from the developer.

What’s Next

I may add:

  • Attack animations

  • Hurt frame

  • Death animation

  • Or supporting characters / enemies

I’ll decide based on how I want the set to grow next.
